The 2012 Graeme Clark Oration
Professor Dame Linda Partridge
The 2012 Graeme Clark Oration is to be delivered by Professor Dame Linda Partridge DBE FRS FRSE, Weldon Professor of Biometry and Director, Institute of Healthy Ageing, University College London on Wednesday, 18 July, 2012, 5.30pm for 6.15pm start, Melbourne Convention Centre, South Wharf, Melbourne.
Professor Partridge imagines a future in which we all stay young by taking a pill that reduces the impact of ageing. She’s not promising immortality, rather she’s working toward a future in which we age gracefully – healthy, happy and active until the end.
Biomedical Imaging Using MRI
Professor Roger Ordidge
Professor Ordidge will explain and show examples of the principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and applications of high magnetic field MRI systems will be presented.

Bionics Institute for new bionic era
The Bionic Ear Institute, a foundation Forum sponsor, underwent an identity change last year. The Prime Minister, The Hon. Julia Gillard, announced the formation of the Bionics Institute at a ceremony in Melbourne attended by 160 people.

Top Award and new role for Graeme Clark
Professor Graeme Clark AC, Australia’s inventor of the multi-channel bionic ear, will receive the CSL Florey Medal in a ceremony in Parliament House, Canberra this evening.
The CSL Florey Medal is awarded biennially to an Australian biomedical researcher for significant achievements in biomedical science and/or human health advancement. In addition to the silver medal, the award currently carries a prize of $50,000 due to the generous support of CSL Limited.
